"This was the moment I'd been dreading for the past six months. Well, actually for the past 22 years"

Wow so that was an unexpected five month break from the blogging world! I blame the crazy summer Scott, Baxter and I just had.

We spent the majority of our weekends watching our friends get married, or celebrating upcoming nuptials by getting embarrassingly tipsy (read drunk off our asses) at the respective hen and stag weekends.

We managed to fit in a trip to Canada and Boston to see Scott's brother, sister-in-law and gorgeous nephews, plus a couple of days in St Andrews to celebrate our First Anniversary...

July 2nd 2011 was my favourite day of all time EVER, flanked by a fabulous Friday spent on the golf course by then men and the top floor of the Old Course Hotel by the women followed by and intimate rehearsal dinner for 100 of our closest friends ;), we spent the day after the wedding enjoying a gorgeous BBQ at the Jigger Inn and another night of debauchery.  Our three day wedding was big, glamorous, fun and filled with all the people we love.

I'll do a post on the big day itself soon but for our anniversary we had a couple of days in our hotel, spent luxuriating in 5* bliss and looking bag over the last 365 days since we said 'I do'.

If Scott and I had a signature pose this would most definitely be in - car shot! Heading down to the Old Course

visiting our church! Not as beautiful a day as the previous year

Our stunning suite

Bubbles in the hotel room! Not an awkward pose at all.

a good looking man in the pub after our gorgeous meal. Note to self, make sure next year's romantic anniversary dinner does not clash with the Champions League Final...

So that was how we celebrated.  I loved being the bride but I think we were lucky in that by having a short engagement we didn't lose sight of what was important (yes...even more important that the Vera Wang....) the forever that comes after the last of the favours are collected, the last of the confetti is hoovered away, and the last guest has left the residents bar!
